A tribute to Independence Rock XXII

A thousand black shirts wave and shout,
a mix of adrenaline and ecstasy comes pumping out,
with a stratocaster around his neck the leather clad pied piper weaves a web of magic,
old melodies hold sway and the rats turn nostalgic,
deep purple and pink is the colour of the night,
on this black sabbath day the thumping drums show their might,
two and twenty years have passed since the seeds of independence rock were sown,
ensnaring all in its majestic glory its tribe has splendidly grown,
to the scorching riffs and melodic solos even the deaf must succumb,
its only fitting then to say...I have become comfortably numb!
