I looked up last night at the inky black sky,
and for some strange reason I felt a tear slip my eye,
There was something familiar in the empty nothingness,
A sense of belonging to a world filled with sadness,
The full round moon kept a solitary vigil,
A lone ember glowing in the infinite frigid,
The soothing lunar rays sing a song of joy and hope,
That not all is lost and there is still scope,
Look into your heart and you will find the courage to endure,
buried deep within its walls a reservoir of valor so obscure,
Move on, perservere and falter not whatever the cost,
Remember to think of those who have come so close to climbing their everest, but wavered and lost..
